Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY is seeking Nursing Assistants to join our Magnet-designated inpatient care team. You will take vital signs, assist with exercises and activities, and help maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients and families.

Responsibilities include assisting with personal hygiene, ensuring necessary supplies, recording inputs/outputs, and escorting discharged patients.

Qualifications

• Nursing Assistant certification or related healthcare credential.
• BLS certification by time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Take patient vital signs: blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation.
• Encourage exercises and assist with ambulation, transfers, turning and positioning.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable patient environment per MSK policies.
• Assist with personal hygiene: bathing, peri-care, mouth care, skin care.
• Ensure daily supplies, change bed linens as needed.
• Record intake and output; escort discharged patients under RN guidance.
• Provide post-mortem care as required.

Exciting Opportunity at MSK:

We are seeking Nursing Assistants to become a part of our team of dedicated professionals! As a member of our Magnet- designated Nursing team, you will provide support to the inpatient nursing staff, while working to ensure comfort and safety for our patients and their family members.

Role Overview:

Be responsible for taking patient vital signs, including blood pressure, heart and respiratory rate, temperature and oxygen saturation Encourage patient to perform exercises and guide patient activities as advised including ambulating, transferring, turning and positioning Maintain a clean, comfortable environment for each patient that aligns with MSK policies and procedures Perform personal hygiene tasks for patients including bathing, mouth care, peri-care and skin care Ensure patient has necessarily supplies every single day including a clean gown, towels, soap, etc; change bed linens as needed Record intake and output Escort discharged patients out of hospital as directed by RN Provide Post-mortem care

Key Qualifications:

Nursing Assistant or other healthcare related certification (PCT, EMT, Med Tech, Home Health Aid, LPN) required, OR at least 1 year of healthcare related experience (NA, PCT, EMT, Med Tech, Home Health Aid, LPN) in lieu of the certification. BLS Certification required by the time of hire

Pay Range:

$22.42- $28.77/hr
