Essentia Health in Brainerd/Baxter, Minnesota, is seeking a Nursing Assistant to deliver direct patient care under supervision. You will assist with personal hygiene, nutrition, vital signs, and transfers while maintaining safety and comfort for patients.

Responsibilities include reporting condition changes to the RN, keeping records, and providing compassionate, efficient support in a fast-paced hospital setting. Shifts include Day and Evening, 32 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Must meet one of several nursing assistant qualification paths listed in the posting.
• BLS certification or ability to obtain within 1 month from hire date.

These cities, 125 miles north of Minneapolis, are at the heart of the Brainerd Lakes Area, one of the state’s top vacation destinations.If for location Essentia Deer River Hospital, use this summary:Responsible for providing direct care to patients and serving the needs of patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, Nurse Manager, Assistant Head Nurse, and/or Department Director (possibly with guidance from an LPN) to contribute to meeting the mission and goals of Essentia Health. Duties will vary by patient care unit/department and include but are not limited to: Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs, providing comfort care and other assistance, appropriately and safely transferring patients, taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping, recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN, and maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process. Works within job scope to meet the requirements of the Joint Commission and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies.Along with organizes, and implements the non-nursing functions of assigned unit(s) to facilitate workflow, enhance unit productivity, and provide excellent customer service to patients, families, visitors and staff. Position promotes efficient unit function and indirect resident care. Performs clerical and reception duties; requisition supplies, equipment, and services as directed; assist with scheduling.

Education Qualifications:

Must meet ONE of the following requirements:

• 6 months of patient care experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Successful completion of an EH provided Nursing Assistant training within one month of hire
• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

This position MUST be able to work the following:

• 32 hours/week
• Every Other Weekend
• Rotating 8 Hour Shifts
• Day Shift: 7:00AM - 3:30PM
• Evening Shift: 3:00PM - 11:30PM
