Job summary

Essentia Health in Duluth, MN is seeking a compassionate Nursing Assistant for the Inpatient Rehab (IRF) unit. You will provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nursing staff, with rotating 8-hour shifts and a night schedule from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM.

This role supports patient safety, comfort, and recovery on the rehab unit. Must meet nursing assistant qualifications, including active registry and foundation course enrollment within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• 6 months of nursing assistant experience
• Completion of one semester of clinical rotations within an accredited nursing program
• Enrollment into the Essentia Health Nursing Assistant Foundation Course within 30 days of hire
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry

Responsibilities

• Providing personal hygiene care, assisting with nutritional needs
• Providing comfort care and other assistance
• Appropriately and safely transferring patients
• Taking vital signs and completing recordkeeping
• Recognizing and promptly reporting changes in patient condition to the RN
• Maintaining a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process.
