Job summary

Essentia Health is seeking a Nursing Assistant for the Oak Crossing facility in Detroit Lakes, MN. The role provides direct care to residents in a skilled nursing setting, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity through daily activities.

The position requires current CNA registration or probable registration within 4 months of hire, with a 0.8 FTE and daytime shift from 0600 to 1430. Holidays are included with a rotating weekend schedule.

Qualifications

• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry or obtains within 4 months of hire/ transfer date.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to skilled nursing facility residents and support their safety and comfort.
• Assist with personal hygiene and nutritional needs; recognize aging processes and changes in resident condition.
• Report changes promptly to the shift nurse and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Prevent abuse of vulnerable adults and address safety hazards or emergencies as needed.

Job Description:

Responsible for providing direct care to skilled nursing facility residents and for serving the needs of residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort, within the scope of the nursing assistant role. Provides personal hygiene care, assists with providing for nutritional needs; recognizes and deals with the problems of the aging process, recognizes and promptly report changes in resident condition to shift nurse, and maintains a safe, clean, attractive, and neat environment for the residents. Must be aware of and prevent the abuse of vulnerable adults in the care of the Essentia Health skilled nursing facility. Maintains awareness of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner. Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective actions.
