Job summary

The New York State Department of Health is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide skilled care at the Oxford Veterans Home. You will assist residents with daily living activities, monitor health and report changes, and support the health care team with treatments and observations.

This full-time position requires NYS CNA certification and may involve a reassignment from within the Veterans Home. A geriatric care background is preferred, and a comprehensive benefits package accompanies

• Current New York Certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• Reassignment: Current New York State Department of Health Veterans Home at Oxford employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as a Nursing Assistant Certified, Grade 8.
• Experience in a geriatric setting preferred.

Additional Comments

Float position, not designated to a specific unit/neighborhood.

The work hours for the second position are 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.

Two permanent, non-competitive, full-time appointments.

Posted salary range ($51,793 - $55,981) includes statutory hiring rate at step 4 and job rate for grade 8, plus a geographic pay differential of $4,000.

If applicable, the inconvenience pay program of $575 per year will be paid to employees who work four (4) hours or more between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Hours worked between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on an overtime basis are not included for Inconvenience Pay.
