Job summary

UF Health’s Central Staffing Office Float Pool is hiring a Nursing Assistant Float Pool to support patient care across units. Under RN supervision, you will perform basic nursing tasks, assist with comfort measures, and help maintain a clean, safe environment.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED, Florida CNA license preferred, BLS, and 2 years of acute care experience preferred. Must read, write, and speak English; post-high school training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Post-high school specialized training preferred.
• Florida CNA license preferred.
• Two years of recent acute care experience in a hospital setting preferred.
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic physical care and nursing procedures under the supervision of RNs.
• Assist with patient comfort measures and activities of daily living.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized patient environment.
• Support nursing staff and contribute to patient care across units.

• Role: Float Pool – assignments may vary based on patient care and staffing needs

Under the direction of the Director/Manager and Registered Nurses, the Nursing Assistant Float Pool supports patient care by providing basic physical care and nursing procedures, assisting with patient comfort measures, and maintaining a clean, safe and organized patient environment.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Post-high school specialized training preferred

Licensure & Certification

• Florida Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license preferred
• Preferred: Two (2) years of recent acute care experience in a hospital setting.
• BLS required
