Job Summary: Geisinger is proud to offer a Nursing Assistant position with market-leading pay rates, up to $3 shift differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts, and up to $40,000 in financial support to become an RN.

Job Duties:

1. Perform clerical duties and direct patient care activities as needed, ensuring efficiency and timeliness to support quality care.
2. Provide patient care within the nursing assistant scope, following the multidisciplinary care plan.
3. Observe, document, and report patient needs and condition changes promptly.
4. Handle specimens according to policy, maintaining integrity and timely processing.
5. Assist with activities of daily living, patient hygiene, and linen changes.
6. Conduct one-to-one patient safety watches as assigned.
7. Perform point-of-care testing and maintain related equipment.
8. Assist in troubleshooting equipment and supply issues.
9. Mentor and serve as a preceptor for new staff and students.
10. Handle clerical tasks related to admissions, transfers, discharges, and orders.
11. Coordinate transportation for tests and communicate electronic information pertinent to the unit.
12. Assist in supply management and communicate with food services for patient diets.
13. Maintain clerical equipment and ensure proper functioning.
14. Transport non-controlled medications and blood products as needed, following safety protocols.

Work Environment:

Typically performed in a clinical setting, adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
