Job summary

HiredFirst in New York is seeking a dedicated nursing assistant to provide direct patient care under nursing supervision.

You will assist with activities of daily living, take vital signs, monitor patient status, support comfort and rehabilitation, assist with meals, and document care accurately. This role requires 1–2 years of healthcare or customer service experience and a BLS certification.

Day/Night shifts with every other weekend and holiday rotations; local CNAs accepted.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred post-secondary health/human services)
• 1–2 years customer service and/or healthcare experience (Med/Surg, ED, ICU preferred) – Required
• BLS (AHA/RQI) – Required
• Strong communication, basic computer skills, patient-centered care focus

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and support under nursing supervision
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, feeding, mobility, toileting)
• Take and record vital signs; monitor and report patient status changes
• Support patient comfort, safety, and rehabilitation (positioning, ambulation, ROM)
• Assist with meal setup, feeding, and nutrition needs
• Perform rounding, respond to call lights, and document care accurately
• Float to affiliated units (SSMH) as needed
