Applicants must have six months of patient care experience or training, or hold a CNA certificate, or have completed an accredited RN/PN/MA/EMT program.

Qualifications

• Six months of experience or training in patient care.
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.
• Completion of an accredited RN, PN, Medical Assistant, or EMT program.
• Note: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require a CNA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene and daily care for patients.
• Record vital signs and report abnormal readings to the ward nurse.
• Make ward rounds every hour or half-hour and maintain safety.
• Weigh patients and assist with procedures and specimen collection as directed.
• Assist in feeding and monitor intake and output.
• Receive shift reports and communicate changes to the on-coming shift.
• Attend mandatory training classes annually and maintain CPR certification.
• Perform other duties necessary to expedite patient care.
