Job summary

Samaritan Medical Center in New York is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide compassionate direct patient care under the supervision of a registered or licensed nurse. The role supports activities of daily living, monitors patients, and collaborates with the care team to promote comfort and safety.

Previous Nursing Assistant program or related experience preferred. Strong documentation, basic computer skills, and familiarity with patient movement equipment are expected; BLS certification

Qualifications

• Previous experience or graduated from a Nursing Assistant program preferred.
• Ability to document on medical records and patient care forms and understand printed health related material.
• One year or more experience as a Nurse Assistant preferable.
• Computer experience preferred.
• Works effectively with others, tact, discretion and diplomacy.
• Ability to write legibly and document, accurately, type of care given.
• Must be able to communicate information to supervisor and co-workers.
• Must be familiar with equipment used to move patients, take vital signs and document.
• High school level of knowledge.
• BLS certification required or obtained within 3 months of hire.
