Pay Information:
Internal Hires:Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based on applicable Rules or Union Contract Terms.
External Hires: This position starts at $21.59 per hour. Step placement and rate of pay are determined based on relevant experience.
Job Summary:
The Patient Safety Assistant (PSA) provides continuous monitoring of patients who are confused, disoriented, or at risk of self-harm, ensuring their safety under the direction of nursing leadership. The role includes both in-person and virtual observation, requiring constant attention and effective communication with patients, families, and clinical staff. The Observer promptly reports any changes in patient condition while maintaining appropriate coverage at all times. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to document accurately to support safe, coordinated patient care.
Minimum Qualifications for the position:
All new employees are required to produce a negative drug screen for all illegal substances in the State of Alaska prior to the start of employment.
High School Diploma or Equivalent or better.
