Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Health System seeks an experienced Nursing Admin Supervisor to oversee floor staff, ensure service excellence, and lead rounds and reporting as directed by Nurse Directors.

The role emphasizes staff supervision, collaboration with leadership, and adherence to policies to improve patient care and throughput.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Nursing School.
• 2 years experience as Charge Nurse/Manager.
• RN, CPR, ACLS, PALS.
• Basic computer knowledge, medical equipment knowledge.

• Collaborates with Staffing Coordinator to appropriately staff units.
• Manages stressful situations effectively and professionally.
• Delegates appropriately and efficiently as needs are communicated from staff members.
• Conducts Nursing rounds every 2 hours on all nursing units or as needed.
• Maximizes patient flow by active involvement/supervision of ER and admission/discharge opportunities.
• Appropriately communicates and collaborates with the Administrator on call.
• Interprets policies and procedures, serving as a resource for staff members.
• Promotes teamwork.

Education

Graduate of approved Nursing School

2 years experience as Charge Nurse/Manager

RN, CPR, ACLS, PALS

Job description

• The Nursing Admin Supervisor holds floor staff accountable for Service Excellence principles as well as huddles, bed side reporting, hourly rounding, AIDET, and the use of the white boards and reports issues to the Nurse Directors as appropriate.

SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Director of House Supervision

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Collaborates with Staffing Coordinator to appropriately staff units.
• Manages stressful situations effectively and professionally.

• Conducts Nursing rounds every 2 hours on all nursing units or as needed.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Work requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting.
• Must be able to physically lift/assist patients onto wheelchairs with minimal assistance when needed.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
• The work environment may be physically confining.
• Must have normal hearing or utilize adaptive hearing devices.
• Visual acuity is required for a variety of activities.
