Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from a U.S. or internationally accredited program.
• Minimum of two years of recent clinical nursing experience in medical-surgical, acute care, or related settings.
• Current, unencumbered NY RN license or ability to obtain before start.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers.
• Must meet clinical site health/compliance requirements and support diversity and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical supervision and instruction for undergraduate nursing students in Fundamentals and/or Medical-Surgical courses.
• Supervise groups of up to eight nursing students during each clinical rotation.
• Facilitate clinical experiences ranging from six to eight hours per day in inpatient/outpatient settings.
• Guide students in nursing process, clinical judgment, patient safety, communication, and documentation.
• Promote professional behaviors, critical thinking, prioritization and clinical decision making.
• Collaborate with clinical coordinator and course faculty for consistency in instruction and evaluation.
• Complete student evaluations, attendance and grading timely.
• Facilitate pre- and post-conference and clinical debriefing; incorporate simulation when appropriate.
