LOCATION:

Sportime QUOGUE, East Quogue, NY

JOB SUMMARY:

Provide a safe, orderly environment in which children’s needs (physical, emotional, social, etc.) are met effectively. Cheerfully meet and greet parents/guardians and children when they come into the Nursery Room. Check to see that parents/guardians fill in the Sign-In sheet. Ensure the children have a fun experience during their stay in the Nursery.

Responsibilities

1. Attendance is an essential job function.
2. Ensure children are safe; avoid physical contact between children.
3. Maintain total control of the room at all times; absolutely no food is allowed in the area.
4. Keep the room clean and neat (before and after children arrive/leave).
5. Use disinfectant wipes to clean toys. Discard broken toys; request replacements as needed.
6. Request drawing supplies as needed.
7. Assist in other areas of the club when there are no children in your care.
8. Abide by SPORTIME policies and procedures.
9. Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

1. Minimum 2 years’ experience babysitting.
2. Current CPR/AED certification.
3. Minimum 2 years’ experience working with toddlers and young children.
4. Be enthusiastic. Actively look for ways to improve the child’s experience.
5. Being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they react as they do.
6. Ability to lift up to a 30lb child.
7. Ability to communicate well with children and adults.
8. Ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong.
9. Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
10. Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so that others will understand.
11. Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• The environment can be loud at times.

HOURLY RATE:

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour

SCHEDULE:

Part-time, Monday - Saturday 8:00am-11:30am
