Long Island Hebrew Academy (LIHA) is seeking a warm, nurturing, and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and stimulating environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth for our youngest learners.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.Create a safe, loving, and engaging classroom environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.Foster a warm and welcoming atmosphere for children and families to ensure a smooth transition into the school environment.Use play-based learning strategies to promote language development, early math skills, and fine/gross motor abilities.Support children in developing social skills, independence, and self-regulation through guided interactions and positive reinforcement.Maintain open and consistent communication with parents regarding student progress, milestones, and any concerns.Collaborate with fellow teachers, assistants, and administration to support student development and school programs.Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, including proper hygiene practices and supervision procedures.Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and incidents as required.Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and school events to enhance professional growth and contribute to the school community.Qualifications:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.Proven experience working with preschool-aged children in an educational setting.Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.Warm, patient, and caring demeanor with a passion for early childhood education.Knowledge of Jewish traditions, holidays, and values is required.
