Program: Interim House West

Job Overview:

The Nursery Teacher will assist in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the Family Services Coordinator.
Report to: Family Services Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage the implementation of daily activities with infants in the nursery.
  2. Conduct daily floor play with each infant.
  3. Take daily attendance of infants.
  4. Complete progress reports, nursery report cards, and conduct parent/teacher conferences.
  5. Conduct weekly parent and child time sessions with various bonding activities between mothers and infants.
  6. Conduct daily feeding and diaper changing of infants during daycare hours.
  7. Conduct daily washing of toys and other materials in the nursery.
  8. Develop and maintain a constructive and ongoing rapport with children and parents.
  9. Create activities that are developmentally educational for the infants.
  10. Collaborate with other teachers to ensure that the daycare fosters an environment that is inviting and nurturing for every child.
  11. Deliver reports on potential concerns about children to management as needed.
  12. Manage day-to-day classroom activities, including structured lessons, free play, toilet breaks, and rest time for infants.

  2. Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  3. Highly organized, with excellent time management skills.
  4. Strong professional boundaries and interpersonal and communication skills.
  5. Emotional stability and personal adjustment to act as a role model for residents.
  6. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  7. Punctuality and reliability required.
  8. Ability to implement and support IHW treatment philosophy.

Education Requirement:

Associates degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. High School diploma or GED required.
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt. This position is classified as salaried non-exempt in accordance with FLSA standards.

Education:

Required: High School or better.
Preferred: Associates or better in Early Childhood Education.
