Job summary

Chesapeake Health & Rehabilitation Center in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse for the Nurse Unit Manager role. You will lead a clinical unit, supervise nurses and CNAs, interface with physicians, and provide clinical guidance to staff to deliver Care Beyond Compare daily.

Typical hours are Monday–Friday day shift with some weekend and on-call duties. A compassionate, team-oriented professional is desired.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered licensure as an LPN or RN in Virginia.
• 3 to 5 years experience as a nurse.
• Nurse management experience preferred.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work well within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical operations of the unit serving up to 35 short-stay residents.
• Supervise nurses and CNAs and interface with physicians.
• Provide clinical expertise to staff as needed.
• Interact frequently with residents and families, delivering quality care.
• Support and maintain weekend and on-call coverage as part of duties.

As a Unit Manager in our healthcare center, you will be at the forefront of helping us achieve our mission of delivering Care Beyond Compare every day. The Unit Manager will oversee clinical operations of the unit that provides services to up to 35 short-stay residents and is responsible for staff supervision of nurses and CNAs, as well as interfacing with physicians, and providing clinical expertise to staff as needed. Customer service skills are important as you will interact frequently with residents and family members. Typical hours are Monday through Friday day shift, with some weekend and on-call duties.

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered licensure as an LPN or RN in Virginia.

• 3 to 5 years experience as a nurse.

• Nurse management experience preferred.
