Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport seeks an Assistant Nursing Manager (RN) to oversee patient care, clinical staff and unit operations. You will supervise shifts, manage payroll, schedules, and throughput while promoting a safe, therapeutic environment.

Leadership may include Performance Improvement work and collaboration with hospital committees. The role requires a BSN with CT RN licensure, BLS, and 2+ years acute care experience with supervisory exposure;

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
• Incumbents must obtain BSN within 3 years.
• Master’s degree is preferred for advancement.

Responsibilities

• Supervise patient care, clinical staff and unit operations.
• Oversee daily operations including off-shift and weekend supervision.
• Manage resources, quality improvement and payroll.
• Create and maintain colleague schedules and monitor throughput.
• Ensure safe, therapeutic unit environment and role as staff RN as needed.
• Participate in Performance Improvement projects within the department.
• Collaborate with leadership and committees; communicate decisions to staff.
• Lead and participate in maintaining adherence to standards.
