Job summary

Memorial Healthcare is seeking an Associate Nurse Manager to oversee daily unit operations, coordinate staff education, and lead quality and safety initiatives. You will collaborate with leadership to ensure patient-centered care and adherence to policies, while guiding performance appraisals and staffing decisions.

The role emphasizes multidisciplinary coordination, committee participation, and ongoing staff development to maintain high standards of nursing care.

Qualifications

• Active Michigan RN license required.
• BSN preferred or equivalent nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications per unit.
• Experience with EMR and quality databases helpful.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day unit operations (shift-specific).
• Lead quality improvement and safety projects with data monitoring.
• Participate in annual unit budget planning.
• Coordinate staff orientation, education, and quarterly in-services.
• Manage staffing with nursing staffing office and scheduling.
• Provide annual performance appraisals and coaching.
• Serve as liaison between staff and administration.
• Contribute to nursing policy/procedure development.
• Plan continuing education to enhance patient care skills.
• Ensure patient safety and age-appropriate care; maintain compliance.
• Represent nursing in at least one organizational committee.
• Coordinate unit call coverage; collaborate with IS for Meditech use.

Education

Registered nurse license (Michigan)

Bachelor's degree in nursing (preferred)

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
