Job summary

Christian-Care in Michigan is seeking a Charge Nurse (RN/LPN) to lead nursing care on the assigned unit within a skilled nursing facility. The role supports the Director of Nursing, supervises CNAs, administers medications, and partners with doctors to ensure high-quality patient care 24/7.

The Charge Nurse collaborates on care planning, conducts focused assessments, coordinates admissions and transfers, and participates in audits and policy adherence.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Michigan state license as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.
• CPR certification required.
• One year of professional nursing experience in the long-term care setting is desired (not required).
• Knowledge of applicable state nursing regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess Residents conditions and develop Care Plans; document observations in EMR and follow Care Plans.
• Make rounds independently with a physician; observe symptoms and responses to treatments.
• Administer medications and notify staff of contraindications in accordance with policies.
• Supervise CNAs during shifts to ensure smooth operation and high-quality resident care.
• Coordinate appointments, therapy, and consults as needed; communicate with physicians.
• Perform comprehensive/n focused nursing assessments with condition changes and during admissions/discharges.
• Participate in regulatory surveys and prepare correction plans when required.
• Maintain professional standards and participate in continuing education.
