Job summary

The California Nurses Association (CNA)/NNOC/NNU is seeking a Labor Representative in Florida to build worker power, organize nurses into effective committees, and advance health care as a human right. The role focuses on mobilizing members, leading campaigns, and supporting contract negotiations across sites.

The ideal candidate will plan campaigns, develop nurse leaders, and manage relationships with nurse leaders while traveling to worksites and working irregular hours to meet campaign needs

Qualifications

• Campaign planning experience with labor or community groups.
• Experience organizing member participation and leadership development.
• Ability to track data, analyze trends, and generate reports.
• Willingness to work long, irregular hours including nights and weekends.
• Commitment to social change and to the organization's program.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and insured car.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow the nurse network.
• Identify and develop leaders.
• Develop campaign plans and maintain relationships with nurse leaders.
• Organize shop floor actions, including strikes.
• Train nurses to handle grievances and represent coworkers.
• Support collective bargaining and contract negotiations.
• Travel to worksites to meet with members.
• Maintain a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
