Job summary

Park Nicollet Health Services is seeking an RN to join our orthopedic team as a high-volume triage nurse. You will assess, plan, and implement patient care while maintaining confidentiality and advocating for patients and families.

The role involves triage via Epic In Basket, handling calls, MyChart messages, and refill requests across west-side TRIA locations, with occasional MRSA swabs and a Monday–Friday schedule. 0.8 FTE, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing.
• Associate degree/diploma or higher required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Maintain a current state certified registered nurse’s licensure.
• BLS (AHA or ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Manage orthopedic patient triage via Epic In Basket, including phone calls and MyChart messages.
• Handle prescription refill requests for multiple TRIA locations.
• Complete onsite MRSA swabs as needed.
• Promote safety, confidentiality and patient rights in a high-volume clinic setting.

Position Summary

Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing, diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Accountability for the quality of care delivered, recognizing the limits of knowledge and experience; addressing situations beyond the nurse’s competency; and performing to the level of education, knowledge, and skill ordinarily expected of an individual who has completed an approved professional nursing education program. Supports multiple areas within a clinic setting with strong interpersonal skill and flexibility while maintaining patient confidentiality and protecting patient rights.Promotes a safe and therapeutic environment of care and advocates for the best interests of individual patients. Resolves concerns or complaints regarding patient care or service.

This is a high-volume nurse triage position that works primarily out of the Epic In Basket, managing orthopedic patient phone calls, MyChart messages, and prescription refill requests for multiple west-side TRIA locations.

In addition to triage responsibilities, the nurse will complete onsite MRSA swabs as needed.

Work Schedule

.80 FTE, Monday through Friday schedule, generally working 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Required Qualifications

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Graduated from a school of nursing.
  • Associate degree/diploma or higher required.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Maintain a current state certified registered nurse’s licensure.
  • BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA), or American Red Cross guidelines.
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development necessary to provide appropriate care to the patient population served.
  • Possesses the qualities of strong critical thinking skills and ability to multitask.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 year of prior experience in nursing preferred.
