Job summary

Saint Clare's Health in New Jersey seeks a Transition to Practice Educator to support new nurses across clinical areas. You will mentor, coordinate orientation resources, and ensure a smooth transition from student to practicing nurse.

As the clinical liaison between education and managers, you will assess learning needs, target gaps, and organize resources to accelerate competence while contributing to high-quality patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must have a current and valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State.
• Current BLS (ARC or AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience.
• Minimum of 1 year preceptor experience
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• The Transition to Practice Educator provides continued educational support, training and mentoring to new nurses in the clinical area.
• Ensuring a smooth transition to practice by providing unit-based support, coordinating the needs and resources for each new nurse by follow up during and after the orientation period.
• The Transition to Practice Educator will serve as a clinical liaison between education and clinical managers/coordinators to facilitate a timely release from orientation by assessing needs and performance in live time.
• Once needs are identified, targeted knowledge and skill deficits can be addressed through the coordination of available resources.
• Addressing the specific needs of each new nurse will ensure their role development success as well as enhance patient outcomes.
