Job summary

Nashua Center in Nashua, NH is seeking a Part-Time Nurse Trainer to provide guidance and quality assurance to staff and in-home providers supporting individuals with I/DD. The role includes health and safety oversight for assigned clients, reporting to the Nurse Trainer Manager, and a hybrid mix of remote and in-person duties (about 40 hours of work per month).

Requirements include NH RN license, at least 2 years nursing in the last 5 years, 1 year as an RN, eligibility to serve as Nurse

Qualifications

• NH RN license required.
• 2 years nursing experience in the last 5 years.
• 1 year as an RN.
• Experience with individuals with I/DD preferred.
• Eligible to serve as Nurse Trainer under NH regulations.
• Not under disciplinary action per RSA 326-B:37, III.
• Completion of the 6-hour NH Nurse Trainer orientation program.

Responsibilities

• Monitor health and safety for assigned clients.
• Train and support employees and contractors on medication administration, healthcare coordination, diagnoses and treatments, and health and safety practices.
• Provide in-person and virtual training.
• Complete medication administration authorizations and reauthorizations; report medication occurrences.
• Ensure compliance with He-M 1201 Healthcare Coordination and Medication Administration regulations.
• Conduct quality assurance visits to certified residences and complete Nurse Trainer documentation on time.
• Maintain an assigned caseload and conduct 5- and 30-day nurse visits.
• Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for documentation and communication; provide on-call coverage.

Nashua Center of Nashua, NH is looking to for a Part-Time Nurse Trainer to provide support, direction, guidance, and quality assurance to employees and in home care providers who are supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This position will be responsible for helping to ensure the health and safety of clients who are served by Nashua Center. (approximately 40 hours per month with potential for more)

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in New Hampshire
• 2 years of nursing experience within the last 5 years
• 1 year of experience as an RN
• Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) preferred
• Eligible to serve as a Nurse Trainer under New Hampshire regulations
• Not under disciplinary action pursuant to RSA 326-B:37, III
• Completion of the required 6-hour New Hampshire Nurse Trainer orientation program

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and DUTIES

This position will report to the Nurse Trainer Manager and will be assigned a caseload of clients to monitor for health and safety.

Training & Education

• Train and support employees and contractors on:
  • Medication administration
  • Healthcare coordination
  • Diagnoses and treatments
  • Health and safety practices
• Provide both in-person and virtual training

Medication Management

• Complete medication administration authorizations and reauthorizations
• Conduct medication occurrence reporting and follow-up
• Complete biannual He-M 1201 Medication Occurrence Reports
• Support medication self-administration programs

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with He-M 1201 Healthcare Coordination and Medication Administration regulations
• Conduct quality assurance visits to certified community residences
• Complete required Nurse Trainer documentation within state-mandated timeframes
• Perform medical quality assurance reviews

Client Health Monitoring

• Maintain an assigned caseload
• Conduct required 5-day and 30-day nurse visits
• Monitor client health and safety needs

Administrative Duties

• Utilize Microsoft Office 365 for documentation, filing, and communication
• Provide on-call coverage for the Nurse Trainer Manager as needed
• Perform other assigned duties

This position will be a hybrid of remote and in-person responsibilities with a great deal of flexibility in work schedule.

• Must be people-oriented and interested in working with teams to ensure quality supports and communication.
• Must be willing to drive a 30 mile radius to support the caseload

Will need to undergo a criminal background check, a driving record check and DCYF check.
