ABOUT THE UNIT:

At Maury Regional Medical Center (MRMC), the 3 rd West unit is a 52-bed department that serves a diverse patient population, including medical-surgical, oncology and pediatric patients. Nurses on 3 rd West have opportunities to advance their skills with training in pediatric care and chemotherapy certification. The unit operates with two charge nurses per shift to ensure smooth patient care and staff support. Our goal is to maintain a 5:1 nurse-to-patient ratio, with a collaborative team approach that includes LPNs and other support staff. The unit is designed to provide a dynamic and comprehensive care experience, preparing nurses for specialized roles in the future.

JOB SUMMARY:

Performs clerical/secretarial duties, processes physicians orders and files vital information in patients medical records. Performs patient care activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to patients and assists in maintenance of a safe environment under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Assigned responsibilities will vary based on the needs of the unit/patients throughout the assigned shift.
