Job summary

Sovah Health Danville is seeking a Nurse Technician to support RN staff in delivering safe, efficient patient care on a busy hospital unit. You will perform basic care tasks, monitor patients, and assist with daily living activities in a 250-bed facility with a Chest Pain Center and stroke certification.

Qualifications

• Critical thinking and decisive judgment in stressful environments.
• Effective English communication (read/write/speak).
• Ability to complete the Skills Competency Checklist within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care as delegated and supervised by an RN, including monitoring vital signs, possible blood glucose measurements, and accurate intake/output recording.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, grooming, eating, toileting, ambulation).
• Observes and promptly reports abnormal physical, mental, or emotional findings to nursing staff.
• Keeps patient rooms and common areas clean, safe, and appropriately stocked.
• Manages the tech desk; supports nursing/physician staff and department throughput.
• Documents care and activities per unit standards.
• Participates in performance improvement and required education; performs other duties as assigned.
