Job summary

Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller is seeking a Nurse Technician on a PRN basis to support nursing staff with basic patient care, transfers, and vital signs monitoring in a dedicated rehabilitation environment.

The role emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and timely responses to call lights, with a requirement for a high school diploma, CPR/BCLS certification, and prior care experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum six months of experience in acute or long-term care preferred.
  • CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.
  • Assist with toileting using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation.
  • Take and document vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, and blood pressure, as well as intake and output measurements.
  • Assist in patient admission, transfer, and discharge, including handling personal belongings.
  • Maintain a clean and comfortable patient environment.
  • Respond promptly to patient call lights, telephone, and paging systems.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

How you’ll contribute

ANurse Technician who excels in this role provides essential support to nursing staff by performing basic patient care duties, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.

  • Perform basic patient care tasks including hygiene, grooming, and mobility support.
  • Provide general nursing care such as patient positioning, lifting, turning, and use of assistive equipment.

What we’re looking for
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Education: Required: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Minimum six months of experience in an acute or long-term care facility preferred.
  • Licenses: CPR/BCLS certification required.
Schedule: PRN, 12 hr. shifts
