Job summary

Corewell Health's Pediatric Care Unit on the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital campus in Grand Rapids seeks a committed nurse for overnight coverage. The role is full-time, night shift, with a 7:00pm–7:30am schedule and a 36-hour weekly expectation.

You’ll deliver bedside care, monitor patients, and support families in a dynamic pediatric environment. Under supervision, you’ll perform routine care tasks, track vital signs, and assist with mobility and daily activities, contributing to high-quality

Qualifications

• Under supervision of a nurse, performs routine bedside nursing activities and patient care.
• Monitors and records vital signs and observes patient conditions.
• Assists with mobility, personal care, and basic wound care as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform bedside nursing tasks including bathing, grooming, and personal care.
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient conditions on assigned units.
• Assist with mobility, wound care, and urinary devices as required.
• Collaborate with the care team to support patient safety and comfort.

About The Unit

5 Children's is a Pediatric Med Surg floor with 24 private rooms at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Nurses are often drawn to this team, for the variety of patients and the team culture. Our team is competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients. Specifically, our team is known as being experts in the care of: Ortho, Trauma, Neurosurgery, General Surgery and Psychiatric/Behavioral patient care.

Scope of work

Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients. Performs routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients, vital signs, would care, ambulating, assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices.

Qualifications

• Required High School Diploma or equivalent
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
• CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
