Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision of the unit nurses and other healthcare professionals.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Take vital signs, monitor intake/output and record patient information accurately.
• Assist with mobility and positioning to prevent pressure ulcers and promote comfort.
• Monitor and report changes in patient conditions to the nursing team promptly.
• Assist with patient admissions, transfers and discharges.
• Maintain a clean and organized patient environment to ensure safety and infection control.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team to meet patient care goals.
• Provide emotional support to patients and families.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory policies.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in the Medical/Surgical or similar setting preferred.

Position Summary:

The Nurse Tech/Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in the Medical/Surgical department is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care services, within the scope of practice, under the supervision of the unit nurses/House Supervisor and the direction of the Director. The nurse tech/CNA must adhere to the hospital’s policies and procedures, maintain accurate patient records, and ensure a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and their families.
