Job Summary:

Under supervision and in collaboration with other health care professionals, assist in performing a variety of nursing care services for patients.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities
  • Receive patient care assignments from the registered nurse (RN) in charge and initiate delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence.
  • Collect and document data for assessments, scheduling, and provide data to RN or LPN for analysis.
  • Inform licensed nurse of changes in patient condition, complaints, and educational needs.
  • Maintain supplies and equipment, utilizing resources economically.
  • Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones, relaying messages, transcribing orders, and organizing records.
  • In inpatient settings, monitor patient behavior and condition, assist with daily living activities, and perform procedures like dressing changes and specimen collection.
  • Prepare patients for discharge and orient new patients to the unit.
  • In outpatient settings, manage referrals and assist patients aged three and above.
  • Work safely and perform point of care testing as per policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Education:
  • Completion of a state-approved UAP program or meet exempted UAP guidelines, or enrolled in UAP through SSM Health upon hire, or complete Clinical Partner I orientation during 90-day period.
Experience:
  • No experience required.
Physical Requirements:
  • Constant standing, walking, and frequent use of hearing, speech, and vision.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying of 0-25 lbs, occasional lifting of 25-50 lbs, and moving patients.
  • Repetitive movements and occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, and squatting.
  • Occasional driving and use of smell to detect odors.
Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association required.
Work Details:

Night shift, part-time, located at OK-SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, Oklahoma City. Scheduled weekly hours: 0 (PRN).
