Job summary

Maryland School for the Deaf in Frederick, MD seeks a Nurse Supervisor to oversee the Student Health Centers on campus. The role oversees nursing staff, coordinates recruitment, and ensures compliant health services for students.

The supervisor will manage procedures, maintain medical records, and participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with the Columbia Campus Nurse Supervisor to support student wellness.

Qualifications

• RN license required in Maryland per state nursing board.
• Three years of RN experience, including one year supervisory/administrative or teaching capacity and two years in the Medical option.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related field may substitute one year of general experience.
• Master’s degree in Nursing or related field may substitute two years of general experience.
• US Armed Forces nursing service experience may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise the Student Health Center on Frederick Campus.
• Coordinate recruitment, selection and assignment of nursing staff.
• Develop procedures and ensure compliance with MS Health Services Guidelines, COMAR, and DHR.
• Serve as liaison to parents and school staff on health care and treatment.
• Monitor health programs and maintain up-to-date medical records and immunizations.
• Attend IEP meetings and assist with nursing care for students.
• Collaborate with the Columbia Campus Nurse Supervisor.
