Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Nurse Supervisor for its Santa Clarita and Mission Hills clinics. You will oversee clinical services in Medical and Surgical Oncology and Infusion, blending administrative duties with direct patient care to uphold City of Hope’s high standards.

You will lead a team of Medical Assistants and Phlebotomists, ensure policy adherence, manage schedules, and coordinate with the clinical network.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Nursing is required.
• Minimum of three years of RN experience.
• Supervisory or program coordination experience preferred.
• ONS Chemo/Bio Certificate (or obtain within 6 months of hire).
• Current California Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• ANCC national certification (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire).

Responsibilities

• Staff supervision: lead Medical Assistants and Laboratory Phlebotomists with evaluations, competency validations, and training on new workflows.
• Policy and procedure adherence: ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Scheduling and time management: create staffing schedules, monitor time cards, optimize clinic throughput.
• EPIC In-Basket management: oversee in-basket and ensure timely responses.
• Resource support: provide staff with needed support during busy periods to maintain care quality.
• Meetings and collaboration: hold regular staff meetings and participate in clinical network meetings to improve operations.

Positions Summary:

As the Nurse Supervisor at City of Hope's Santa Clarita and Mission Hills clinics, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of clinical services in the areas of Medical Oncology, Surgical Oncology, and Infusion. The role blends administrative duties with direct patient care, fostering excellence in patient care and adherence to City of Hope's high-quality standards.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Staff Supervision: Lead and manage a team of Medical Assistants and Laboratory Phlebotomists, including performance evaluations, competency validations, and training staff on new workflows to ensure consistent high-quality care.
• Policy and Procedure Adherence: Monitor and ensure clinical staff alignment with current policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with quality and safety measures.
• Scheduling and Time Management: Create staffing schedules, monitor time cards, and manage clinic throughput to optimize patient care and staff efficiency.
• EPIC In-Basket Management: Oversee and monitor the EPIC in-basket, ensuring timely responses and efficient communication within the clinical team.
• Resource Support: Serve as a resource for staff during busy periods, ensuring they have the support they need to provide exceptional care to patients.
• Meetings and Collaboration: Hold regular meetings with your staff to promote teamwork, attend operational and nursing meetings for the clinical network sites, and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of clinical operations.

Your qualifications should include:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
• Minimum of three years of RN experience
• Previous supervisory or program coordination experience (preferred)
• ONS Chemo/Bio Certificate (or obtain within 6 months of hire)
• Current California Registered Nurse license
• Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
• National Certification within the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) (or to be obtained within 1 year of hire)
