Job summary

Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston is seeking an experienced RN to provide administrative, operational, and clinical leadership for evening, night, weekend, and holiday coverage. You will act as the patient care representative, coordinate with medical staff and support services, and ensure optimal patient care and environmental conditions at all times.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Nursing, a state RN license, and 5–7 years of clinical nursing experience with 2–3 years in lead

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Nursing is required and Master's Degree Nursing is preferred.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license is required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
  • Clinical nursing experience 5-7 years required; lead nursing experience 2-3 years required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise patient care through verification of the nursing process and provide guidance to support the nursing team.
  • Ensure appropriate intervention during deterioration, disruptive behavior, or equipment malfunctions.
  • Serve as off-shift patient care representative, document concerns, and investigate as needed.
  • Conduct rounds in patient care areas and set expectations for accurate reporting for high-acuity patients.
  • Collaborate with support services, emergency, admitting, and clinical services to coordinate patient care and environment.
