Villa Healthcare's Spring Meadows A Villa Center in Ohio seeks a Nurse Supervisor LPN to lead nursing staff during overnight and weekend shifts, ensuring proper staffing, workflow, and high-quality patient care.

You will act as the on-site authority after hours, manage clinical challenges, coordinate with other departments, and support staff development while maintaining care standards. Current Ohio LPN license and CPR, plus supervisory experience, are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current CPR Certification required.

  • Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.

Job description

Spring Meadows A Villa Center is seeking a Nurse Supervisor LPN to join their team! The Nurse Supervisor LPN provides leadership and oversight to nursing staff during non-business hours, ensuring appropriate staffing, workflow, and quality patient care. It involves acting as the highest on-site authority after-hours, making timely decisions, resolving clinical challenges, and maintaining care standards. Responsibilities include direct nursing care, administrative tasks, coordination with other departments, and support for staff development.

Nurse Supervisor LPN Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide oversight and leadership to all on-duty nursing staff during non-business hours. Ensure proper staffing levels, monitor workflow, and assist with prioritizing patient care tasks. Address staff concerns and promote a positive, collaborative work environment.
  • Act as the highest-ranking on-site authority during after-hours and weekends. Make timely decisions related to patient care, staffing, safety, and operations. Collaborate with other departments when needed and elevate issues appropriately.
  • Offer clinical expertise and support in resolving patient care challenges. Assist with complex cases or difficult family situations. Handle call-ins or last-minute staffing changes, ensuring coverage and continuity of care.
  • Develops and maintains care standards.
  • Makes frequent rounds to note resident/patient conditions and to ensure nursing personnel are performing their work assignments in accordance with acceptable nursing standards.
  • Gives and receives the nursing report upon reporting in and ending shift duty hours.
  • Ensures assigned work area (i.e. nurse station, med. Cart, medication room, etc.), resident/patient care rooms and treatment areas are maintained in a clean and sanitary manner.
  • Performs administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, charting, etc.
  • Provides direct nursing care as necessary and as department needs may dictate.
  • Ensures that all restorative care notes are informative and descriptive of the treatment provided and of the resident’s response to the care.
  • Informs nursing service personnel of new admissions, their expected time of arrival, room assignment etc.
  • All other duties, as assigned.
Nurse Supervisor LPNSkills and Abilities:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong interpersonal and team development skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and remain calm under stress.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work and delegate to others.
  • Understands and follows infection control standards, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to adapt to a flexible work schedule and occasional overnight travel.
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge and ability with an aptitude to learn company applications.
Nurse Supervisor LPN Education and Experience:
  • Current CPR Certification required.
  • Possess a current license to practice in the State as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Long-Term care and MDS experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Walking, reaching, bending, lifting, extended sitting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing and pulling, all with or without the aid of mechanical devices is required.
  • Limited potential for exposure to environmental hazards. Understanding and adherence to company safety standards and protocols required.
