Job summary

Westchester Medical Center Health Network seeks a Supervisor of Nursing to plan, supervise, and participate in delivering quality nursing care. The role includes coordinating staffing, patient care, and consultative support across units in collaboration with medical staff.

Responsibilities include adjusting assignments, monitoring census and acuity, directing nursing regimens, evaluating resources, and ensuring patient rights and safety.

Qualifications

• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Current BLS and ACLS.
• Experience in a supervisory or Charge Nurse position is required.

Responsibilities

• Adjust nursing assignments to accommodate patient census and acuity.
• Record staffing changes and absenteeism.
• Coordinate and direct development, implementation and evaluation of nursing regimens.
• Assess patients’ needs and monitor condition, provide nursing care as directed by medical staff.
• Supervise clinical performance of nursing personnel.
• Participate in quality assurance programs and implement changes.
• Identify resources to resolve patient, family or staff issues.
• Advocate the Patient’s Bill of Rights.
• Evaluate staffing and equipment needs.
• Coordinate bedflow and on-call processes.
• Communicate with nurse managers and department directors.
• Respond to emergency codes and act as Incident Commander as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

Master’s degree in Nursing (preferred)
