Job summary

Prime Healthcare Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Clinical Nursing Supervisor for the Intermediate Care / Stepdown department. The role supports administrative duties, oversees staff, and ensures quality patient care during night shifts (7p-7a, 3–12 hour shifts with rotating weekends/holidays).

Required RN license; BSN preferred, BLS and ACLS on hire; minimum 2 years clinical nursing with supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN license.
• BSN preferred for this supervisory role.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing with 1 year in a supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support administrative responsibility for the department service functions and collaborate with the unit Director/Manager.
• Develop and implement departmental plans including performance improvement activities and regulatory compliance.
• Organize orientation and training for personnel within the department.
• Communicate with staff, physicians, and administration in written and verbal form.
• Hold accountability for staff quality and shift functions; ensure efficient department operations.
• Perform direct patient care as needed within scope of practice and guide staff in changes to care plans.
