Responsibilities

• Provides leadership as part of the unit management team.
• Coordinates unit management activities in conjunction with the manager/director.
• Facilitates staff development within the unit in collaboration with the manager/director.
• Implements the day-to-day operational plan of the unit under the direction of the manager/director.
• Serves as a resource to other health team members on the assigned unit.
• Collaborates with other departments to promote cost-effective health care.
• Assumes patient care assignments based on unit needs.

Younker Rehabilitation has been providing rehabilitation services to the Des Moines area for over 60 years. We have 59 licensed beds with sister units located at Iowa Methodist Medical Center and Iowa Lutheran Hospital. We serve a diverse group of patients with diagnosis that include: strokes, neurologic disorders, amputees, trauma, oncology, and patients needing rehabilitation after a major medical illness. All patients receive a minimum of three hours of therapy daily and 24 hour acute nursing and physician monitoring and management. We are CARF accredited and are passionate about getting our patients home and providing support and services needed for a safe and successful transition.
