Job summary

Sheppard Pratt is seeking a registered nurse to provide clinical and managerial leadership across two inpatient units. The role emphasizes staffing coordination, crisis assessment, and ongoing staff development to ensure high-quality patient care.

Requirements include an active Maryland RN license (BSN preferred) and 2–3 years of psychiatric inpatient experience, with strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred and active Maryland RN license required or eligible.
• Minimum two to three years of related experience, including inpatient psychiatric nursing.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and managerial leadership for assigned inpatient units.
• Reassign nursing staff to meet programming demands and coordinate staffing.
• Orient and supervise new nursing staff; participate in applicant screening.
• Assess and resolve clinical crises in absence of the nurse leader and ensure quality documentation.
• Contribute to policy/procedure updates and performance improvement efforts.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
