Job summary

Pinnacle Treatment Centers is seeking a Nurse Supervisor to lead our nursing team and support recovery-focused care. You will oversee nursing operations, medication services, patient care compliance, and clinical staff while ensuring high-quality care for patients on their recovery journey.

The role requires an RN (or LPN where permitted), strong leadership, and experience with substance use/mental health populations, plus travel up to 20% locally. Competitive benefits accompany this position.

Qualifications

  • Current RN license in the state of employment (or LPN where permitted).
  • Valid driver's license in good standing and insurable.
  • Ability to travel locally up to 20%.
  • Minimum 2 years with substance use disorders/mental health populations.
  • Minimum 3 years nursing leadership/management experience.
  • CPR, First Aid, and BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of infection control and healthcare regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight for nursing services, admissions, medication administration, and laboratory services.
  • Supervise nursing staff through coaching and performance management.
  • Develop and manage staffing schedules for appropriate coverage.
  • Oversee medication inventory, ordering, and accountability in DEA/state compliance.
  • Ensure Diversion Control Plan compliance and implement medication policies.
  • Administer and dispense medications under physician direction.
  • Coordinate physician appointments, labs, referrals, and follow-up care.
  • Educate patients about medications and treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and medical records.

What You'll Do
  • Provide leadership and oversight for nursing services, admissions, medication administration, and laboratory services
  • Supervise nursing staff through regular coaching, support, and performance management
  • Develop and manage staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage
  • Oversee medication inventory, ordering, receiving, and accountability in compliance with DEA and state regulations
  • Ensure compliance with the facility's Diversion Control Plan
  • Assist with the development and implementation of medication administration policies and procedures
  • Administer and dispense medications under physician direction
  • Ensure physician and Medical Director treatment plans are properly executed
  • Conduct patient assessments and monitor treatment responses
  • Administer and interpret Mantoux testing
  • Coordinate physician appointments, laboratory work, referrals, and follow-up care
  • Train nursing staff on medical procedures, health and safety practices, and proper equipment usage
  • Participate in case conferences and interdisciplinary treatment planning
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and medical records
  • Manage medical supply inventory and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and overall health concerns
  • Coordinate referrals for specialized medical services and follow through on patient care plans
  • Attend team meetings, required trainings, and continuing education programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
    • Or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) where permitted by state regulations
  • Current valid driver's license in good standing and insurable by company carrier
  • Ability to travel locally up to 20% as needed
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience working with substance use disorders and/or mental health populations
  • Minimum three (3) years of nursing leadership, supervision, or management experience
  • Experience with emergency triage and medical crisis response
  • CPR, First Aid, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Knowledge of infection control, quality assurance, and healthcare regulatory compliance standards
Virginia-Specific Requirements
  • Registered Nurses must have at least one (1) year of experience providing mental health services to adults with serious mental illness OR
  • Licensed Practical Nurses must have at least three (3) years of experience providing mental health services to adults with serious mental illness
Preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience working with substance use disorders and/or mental health populations, including psychopharmacotherapy experience
