Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare in Minnesota is seeking an Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR Circulating) to support a busy OR with multiple specialties. This 0.8 FTE role (64 hours per pay period) is in-person with day and evening shifts rotating, Monday through Friday and every 4th weekend, and on-call per unit policy.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of recent OR circulating RN experience, a valid Minnesota RN license, and graduation from an accredited nursing program.

JOB DETAILS Department: Operating Room FTE: 0.8 (64 hours per pay period) Workdays: Monday - Friday and every 4th weekend Shift(s): Day and Evening rotating shifts Shift Length: 8 hours; 8 shifts per pay period Location: In-Person Other: On call per unit policy The Operating Room (OR) has 21 full service OR suites capable of providing service to a variety surgical specialties including General, Pediatric, Neurosurgical, Orthopedic / Podiatric, Ophthalmologic, Gynecological, Ear Nose and Throat, Oral / Maxillofacial, Dental, Reconstructive Plastic / Burn, Cardiovascular, Urologic, and Trauma. In addition to these major surgical areas we have two vascular access rooms and two minor surgery suites. The OR, in combination with Vascular Access and Minor Surgery areas, performs over 11,000 surgical procedures per year totaling nearly 1,200,000 surgical minutes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

• 1 year of recent OR circulating experience as an RN (includes GI & L&D RN experience) within the last 4 years
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
• Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in area of clinical specialty
• BSN Preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree is strongly encouraged. Advancement in academic education will be discussed as part of individual professional development during the annual performance review.
