Job summary

The Lutheran Home in Missouri is seeking a full-time Nurse Shift Supervisor to oversee nursing operations during evening and overnight hours. You will provide clinical guidance and support to staff and help deliver resident-centered care guided by our values of service, excellence, dignity, and grace.

Responsibilities include staffing, supervising, medication assistance when needed, and acting as a clinical resource across nursing areas to ensure safe, high-quality care for residents.

Qualifications

• Current unrestricted RN or LPN license in Missouri.
• Minimum of two years of nursing experience.
• Long-term care and/or supervisory experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper staffing for each unit, adjusting for call-ins.
• Review complaints filed by staff or residents.
• Assist with medication passes and treatments when needed.
• Function as a clinical resource for all nursing areas.
• Monitor and help defuse emotional situations involving residents, families, visitors, or staff.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and facility guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Display role model expectations related to customer service and demonstrate a sense of urgency regarding resident and staff safety.
• Ensure the effective delivery of competent, compassionate, and safe care by monitoring processes and outcomes throughout the healthcare community.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and problem-solving support for nursing staff during assigned hours.

In this leadership role, you will oversee nursing operations during evening and overnight hours, provide clinical guidance and support to staff, and support the delivery of quality care to our residents. This is a full-time evening/night position. Scheduled hours will be discussed during the interview process based on the needs of the nursing department.
