Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager to direct nursing operations under the Nurse Manager. You will supervise staff, manage human resources, and guide patient care quality across shifts while ensuring compliance with clinical standards.

The role focuses on budget oversight, performance improvement participation, and acting as a clinical resource to team members in a dynamic university hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate customer service skills.
• Knowledge of Title 22 and Joint Commission requirements.
• Demonstrated leadership experience (e.g., project lead, charge nurse).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Understanding of patient classification systems and staffing needs.
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage delivery of patient care and nursing practice quality.
• Supervise and direct unit staff and functions while maintaining clinical skills.
• Direct patient care activities, monitor budgets, and participate in performance improvement projects.
