UF Health in Jacksonville seeks a Wound and Ostomy Specialist to assess, plan, implement and evaluate wound and ostomy care for inpatients. You will provide direct patient care and education while serving as a resource to nurses and physicians as part of the treatment team.

This role entails autonomous case management of select patients, collaboration with physicians, and outreach to outpatient areas when staffing permits.

Qualifications

  • Required Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • RN licensed in Florida; BLS certification.
  • BSN preferred within three years of hire or transfer.
  • Wound Care certification within one year of hire or transfer.

Is an integral member of the treatment team and is responsible for the case management of specific patients an in working autonomously and in collaboration with the physicians. The Wound Care Specialist will serve as a resource and educator to physicians and patients when requested by the MD and as staffing permits in the outpatient clinic areas.

Qualifications

Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups. Required Education: Associate's Degree. Specific course work: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. New hires effective June 14, 2017, must have a BSN degree from an accredited school of nursing within three (3) years of hire or transfer into the position. New hires or transfers into in the position between August 1, 2013 and June 13, 2017 must abide with the conditions in his or her offer letter and the verbiage in the job description signed upon hire or transfer into the position. Current employees who were hired or transferred into the position prior to August 1, 2013 will be grandfathered. Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Required Licensure/Certifications: Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida BLS from the American Heart Association National Wound Care certification within one year of hire or transfer; PRN status employees must have certification at time of hire.

Required Experience: 2-5 years - Med-surg, Intensive Care experience.

Preferred Experience: Wound and Ostomy Nursing.
