Job summary

Blue Cloud Pediatric Surgery Centers in Flint, MI is seeking a Registered Nurse - PRN to join our perioperative care team at Crowne Point Surgery Center. You will provide compassionate preoperative nursing care for pediatric and adult patients and support intraoperative and PACU care.

You will assess, monitor, and document status, tailor care to procedure type and anesthesia plan, and communicate any changes to the dentist, physician, GI specialists, surgeon, or anesthesia provider to ensure

Qualifications

• Current State License to practice as a Registered Nurse.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Knowledge of the nursing process including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Current BLS upon hire; ACLS and PALS within 60 days of hire.
• GI/endoscopy experience strongly valued; pediatric experience strongly valued.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate preoperative nursing care for pediatric and adult patients.
• Assess, monitor, and document patient status in recovery and PACU.
• Deliver individualized care based on age, procedure, and anesthesia plan.
• Monitor patients during intraoperative and PACU periods and communicate changes to the team.

YOU WILL

• Provide safe, compassionate preoperative nursing care for pediatric and adult patients in the ambulatory surgery center setting
• Assess, monitor, and document each patient’s status upon arrival to the recovery area and throughout the post-anesthesia recovery process
• Deliver individualized nursing care based on patient age, procedure type, surgical or gastrointestinal condition, and anesthesia plan
• Monitor pediatric and adult patients during the intraoperative and post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) periods, promptly communicating observed changes or complications to the appropriate dentist, physician, gastroenterologist, surgeon, or anesthesia provider

YOU HAVE

Requirements + Qualifications

• Current State License to practice as a Registered Nurse
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Knowledge regarding the nursing process and its application, including assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (within 60 days of hire)
• GI/endoscopy experience strongly valued
• Pediatric experience strongly valued

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Previous ICU, perioperative, PACU, endoscopy, or ambulatory surgery center experience
