Job summary

Mountaire Farms is seeking a per-diem Occupational Health Nurse to provide direct care in an industrial setting. The role involves post-offer physicals, screenings, First Aid, and wellness education, working with the Medical department under the Occupational Health Manager.

The position requires RN licensure and a minimum of 2 years nursing experience, with preferred emergency or occupational health background.

Qualifications

• RN licensure is required.

• Emergency, occupational health, urgent care or related experience preferred.
• Bilingual (Spanish or Creole) a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to employees and ensure timely, accurate medical tasks.
• Assist with workers' compensation management and regulatory compliance programs (e.g., respiratory, BBP, hearing screens).
• Complete annual competencies and maintain CPR and licensure; pursue leadership or specialty education.
• Initiate incident investigations and coordinate follow-up visits with Safety and management.
• Assist with drug and alcohol testing program compliance.

Job description

Primary Purpose

Provides direct care in industrial setting performing post-offer physicals, drug and alcohol screenings, First Aid, wellness education and OSHA compliance. Provides leadership and oversight in the Medical department as needed. Works in conjunction with the Occupational Health Manager on worker's compensation case management. Exemplifies excellent customer service and builds rapport with employees. Understands unit policies and procedures and can fill in for the Occupational Health Manager when needed.

Hours:

Per -Diem, 8 - 16 hrs. Per week, weekdays and evening with occasional overnights and Saturdays.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Provides exceptional customer service to employees. Ensures that all medical tasks and procedures are completed in a timely and accurate manner. Assists with worker’s compensation management and regulatory compliance programs such as respiratory, bloodborne pathogens (BBP) and hearing screens. Collaborates and communicates effectively with department leaders.
2. Completes annual competencies, continuing education and maintains mandatory certifications such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and licensure. Attends a minimum of one off-site education or conference annually in leadership or area of specialty. Independently seeks professional development.
3. Initiates incident investigations and schedules follow-up visits as needed. Communicates with Safety and management.
4. Assists with projects as delegated by the Occupational Health Manager.
5. Assists with compliance of drug and alcohol testing programs.
