Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Nurse (RN or LPN) for the Day Shift at Riverbend ICF in New Bern, NC. This on-site, full-time role provides holistic nursing oversight for individuals with IDD and mental health needs, with a 6:30am–7:00pm schedule and a $32–$38 hourly compensation depending on experience.

Responsibilities include monitoring health, administering medications, training unlicensed staff, coordinating with the IDT, and promoting health and independence.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited LPN OR RN program.
• Active, unrestricted nursing license.
• Strong communication skills with interdisciplinary team members, individuals served, and families.
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and prioritize tasks.
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with IDD.
• Observe, assess, and evaluate health needs of individuals.
• Deliver health-related training to unlicensed personnel.
• Educate individuals on monitoring their own health and medication administration training.
• Administer medications and treatments, or assist with self-administration.
• Schedule and maintain preventive and routine medical appointments.
• Conduct medication closet assessments.
• Perform quality assurance checks on health-related tasks performed by unlicensed personnel.
• Collect and document health-related data.
• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments.
• Monitor for abnormal findings and report to physicians promptly.
• Collaborate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the IDT.
• Advocate for individuals and develop community supports for health and independence.

Compensation: $32 - $38 an hour (depending on role and experience)

Incentives: $6,000 sign-on bonus is being offered for PRN status. No relocation packaged offered.

Position Overview

As a LPN or RN with RHA, you will have the opportunity to practice holistic nursing while making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. In this role, you will provide healthcare oversight and monitoring for the individuals we support, promoting their overall health, independence, and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide holistic nursing care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD)

• Collaborate and communicate with physicians, pharmacies, medical suppliers, and the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT)
• Advocate for individuals and assist in developing community supports to promote optimal health and independence

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited License Practical Nursing (LPN) OR Registered Nurse (RN) program
• Active, unrestricted nursing license
• Strong communication skills with interdisciplinary team members, individuals served, and their families
• Ability to work independently, stay organized, and effectively prioritize tasks
• Current CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification

Physical Demands And Work Environment:

• Must be able to regularly lift and carry up to 30lbs. and occasionally pull at least 50 lbs.
• Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop as part of regular job duties.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Required to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from floor level, which requires working on hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, and peripheral vision.
• Must be able to talk and hear.
• Exception – Deaf and Hard of Hearing Programs:For these programs only, employees must be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL). The requirement to talk and hear does not apply.
