Job summary

Community Healthcare Network is looking for a Nurse/RN-Per Diem to assist clinic clients, follow physicians’ orders, and address health problems through nursing care, education, and supporting life and well-being.

The role includes independent and interdependent duties, with emphasis on collaboration across CHN’s diverse clinical teams. Friday shift 9am–5pm, ongoing professional development, and strict confidentiality are expected.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in New York State.
• CPR certification or plan to obtain within six months of employment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to continuing professional development in nursing.
• Strong interpersonal skills and computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing regimes for clinic patients.
• Administer medications as prescribed and interpret nursing plans.
• Consult with physicians as needed for interpretation of medical regimes.
• Record, report, and interpret nursing services and patient responses.
• Collaborate with health team to deliver high-quality services.

Position Summary

Community Healthcare Network is looking for a Nurse/RN-Per Diem to a ssist the clinic clients in addressing health problems; executes physicians’ orders; diagnoses and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well being. Fulfills functions categorized as independent, interdependent and dependent.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing regime for all clinic patients/clients.
• Executes physicians’ orders using sound judgment and administers medication as prescribed.
• Conferences with physicians as necessary when in his/her professional judgment a prescribed medical regime needs interpretation and/or clarification.
• Records, reports and interprets nursing services and client’s responses.
• Collaborates with appropriate members of the health team to facilitate the highest quality of services.
• Participates in maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, which influences or determines policies affecting nursing practice.
• Triage education of walk-in patients and performs venipuncture as necessary.
• Updates prenatal log book and follows up on abnormal labs and referrals as necessary.
• Orders medications, vaccines and medical supplies as needed.
• Implements specific responsibilities as delegated by the Center Director and Director of Nursing.
• Maintains nursing competence through participation in continuing professional education and other appropriate learning experience.
• Facilitates related services for health center patients and CHN staff as appropriate, with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Certificate/License Required

• Currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Current CPR certificate or plan to attend a CPR training course within six (6) months of employment.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Demonstrates competence as a Registered Nurse.
• Ability to relate comfortably and professionally to all clients/patients in discussing their individual needs for ongoing health maintenance and education.
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team relationship to meet the objectives of the program.
