Job summary

Community Healthcare Network in New York City is seeking a Registered Nurse to support clinic clients, execute physicians’ orders, and provide care that promotes health and wellbeing. You will triage walk-in patients, perform venipuncture as needed, and collaborate with physicians and the health team to deliver high-quality nursing services.

Requires NYS RN licensure, Current CPR, and the ability to work independently or in a team, with strong communication skills and commitment to ongoing

Qualifications

• As a Registered Nurse, licensed to practice in New York State.
• Maintain CPR certification or obtain within six months of employment.
• Provide high-quality nursing care and maintain patient confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and evaluation of nursing regime for clinic patients.
• Execute physicians’ orders with sound judgment and administer medications as prescribed.
• Record, report and interpret nursing services and client responses.
• Collaborate with health team to facilitate quality services.

• Update prenatal log book and follow up on abnormal labs and referrals.

Position Summary

Assists the clinic clients in addressing health problems; executes physicians’ orders; diagnoses and treats human responses to actual or potential health problems through such services as case finding, health counseling and provision of care supportive to or restorative of life and well being. Fulfills functions categorized as independent, interdependent and dependent.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing regime for all clinic patients/clients.
• Executes physicians’ orders using sound judgment and administers medication as prescribed.
• Conferences with physicians as necessary when in his/her professional judgment a prescribed medical regime needs interpretation and/or clarification.
• Records, reports and interprets nursing services and client’s responses.
• Collaborates with appropriate members of the health team to facilitate the highest quality of services.
• Participates in maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Participates in interdisciplinary meetings, which influences or determines policies affecting nursing practice.
• Triage education of walk-in patients and performs venipuncture as necessary.
• Updates prenatal log book and follows up on abnormal labs and referrals as necessary.
• Orders medications, vaccines and medical supplies as needed.
• Implements specific responsibilities as delegated by the Center Director and Director of Nursing.
• Maintains nursing competence through participation in continuing professional education and other appropriate learning experience.
• Facilitates related services for health center patients and CHN staff as appropriate, with respect to their confidentiality and privacy.
• Performs other duties, as assigned.

Certificate/License Required

• Currently registered to practice as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
• Current CPR certificate or plan to attend a CPR training course within six (6) months of employment.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required

• Demonstrates competence as a Registered Nurse.
• Ability to relate comfortably and professionally to all clients/patients in discussing their individual needs for ongoing health maintenance and education.
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team relationship to meet the objectives of the program.
