NewPath Child & Family Solutions is in search of a caring, compassionate Nurse for our Residential Intervention Program. Services in this program aim to provide diagnostic clarity and behavioral stabilization for each youth by providing strengths-based interventions, a relationship-centered environment, and an array of individualized mental health services.

Location

This position will work primarily at our East Campus.

Hours

12-hour shifts, one weekend day required.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Direct patient care makes up the majority of the daily expectations for a Behavioral Mental Health Nurse.
  • Prepare and administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of the treatment/medication on target symptoms and document the findings.
  • Monitor and advocate for both re-evaluations of medications and associated labs.
  • Assist or perform blood draws and injections.
  • Assist prescribers with patient appointments, including obtaining vital signs, medical history, and new orders.
  • Assess Residential clients for any injuries or illnesses.
  • Assist interdisciplinary team in patient's plan of care.
  • Manage adequate inventory of medication, first-aid supplies, lab supplies, etc.
  • Provide for any urgent medical/psychiatric concerns, arrange for transportation and/or emergency services, if necessary, provide first aid and monitor vital signs.
What You Bring To The Table
  • Minimum qualifications include a corresponding degree with a current Ohio LPN license in good standing.
  • Preferred qualifications include a corresponding degree with a current Ohio RN license in good standing.
  • 1 year of experience in a related field, and at least 1 year of experience working with youth preferred.
  • Experience with an understanding of various mental health diagnoses.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Have a valid driver's license and good driving record with no more than 5 points and current automobile insurance with ability to drive a 15-passenger van.
  • Good written and verbal skills.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving skills, and the ability to remain calm and professional in crisis situation.
