Job summary

Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL, seeks a Nurse Resident for Acute Care on the Neuro Med/Surg unit.

The role supports the transition from student to licensed RN through structured training and preceptorship on a Level II trauma center campus. This 12-month ANCC-accredited residency program emphasizes bedside patient care, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team during night shifts on a 3-12 schedule.

Qualifications

• RN license in Florida or compact multistate license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC required for certain areas.
• Nursing school graduate.

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care under supervision of a preceptor/charge nurse.
• Assesses patient needs and revises care plans.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff and interdisciplinary team.
• Documents patient care meeting required standards and regulatory guidelines.
• Supports education and onboarding of new staff and students.
• Prioritizes patient care using evidence-based standards.
